The Mountain Roadshow is a tribe of adventurers guided by animal spirits.
In early September, we hit the road on The Animal Impulse Tour. Our mission was to skate the wilderness of the northwest, leaving skateparks behind. There were 8 of us to start:
Director of Element Skatecamp
and me, DANIELA MARIA
Photographer for The Mountain Co.
Our journey started in Los Angeles heading north to the redwoods, and in two weeks we just about camped our way to the Canadian boarder.

The morning routine consisted, mostly, of coffee...
... and a little bit of yoga.
And then we were off to skate the trails in Redwoods National Park.

How many photographers charging equipment does it take to kill the battery in a 15 passenger van? In our case, three. But people are kind on the road and maybe it was just our excuse to spread some Mountain love.
Bright Krinksy (below), lead us on this journey, and skillfully ignored the "Dad, dad! Pull over! We see a good skate spot," cries coming from the back of the van when we were off schedule.

This guy must have got word of our tour. This gorgeous Elk followed us from the beach, channeled his inner human and promptly stuck his tongue out when we wouldn't let him in the van.
A 6 am wakeup on our last day in California was the perfect time for a cool ride through the morning fog.
