It is such an interesting time to be alive in 2016.
I know that’s been said at every point in history, but just stop for a minute and compare your daily routine today to your daily routine 20 years ago. It’s like someone hit the fast forward button on a sci-fi movie. We went from faxes and beepers to basically having a personal assistant in your pocket at all times. Tech has evolved at a rapid pace in the last 2 decades, and thanks to that, jobs exist today that sound like something your 6-year-old-self dreamed up. Jobs like “Influencer”, “Pro-Video Gamer”, and, my personal favorite, “Famous Animal Social Media Manager” are things that people make a real living at! Like I said, It’s a crazy time to be alive.
But it’s also a GREAT time to be alive! Finally, regular people are allowed to follow their passion and actually spend their lives doing what makes them happy while simultaneously being able to feed themselves on a regular basis. It doesn’t matter what your passion is, with a little ingenuity, dedication, and help from online networking communities you can succeed in monetizing what you love to do, so you can spend your time doing what you love to do instead of spending your time trying to afford to do what you love to do for a few hours on the weekends.
We saw proof of this passionate success at the annual BlogPaws pet bloggers and social media conference.
Blogpaws is “a Social Media Company focused on teaching pet enthusiasts, pet bloggers, and all pet parents how to use social media effectively and responsibly.” Basically, if you have a blog about your amazing pet, and you want it to become a real source of entertainment or information but you don’t know where to start, Blogpaws can help by providing resources, networking, and connections with brands so that you can produce great content for your followers, and make money for all your hard work.

So, as you can see, it doesn’t matter what you’re passionate about (although it helps to be passionate about pets because let’s face it pets rule the internet). There are billions of people in this world, and, chances are, thanks to the internet and technology, you can find like-minded passionate people and create something that will speak to them. If you do a little digging, you’ll find networking communities, like Blogpaws, willing to help you figure out how to do what you love and make a living at it. Next thing you know, that 9-5 grind isn’t something you have to grin and bear each day, because you can set up shop, running your own small business in the comfort of wherever you want. Might I suggest that beachside villa you’ve always dreamed of?
